Bronx Wins 4-1 to Continue Red Hot Start
|
Bronx Bombers starter Max Grant turned in a top-notch performance against the Reno Raiders at Bronx Ballpark. The result was a win for the Bombers, 4-1. In 6 innings, Grant surrendered 1 hit, while striking out 5 and walking 4. He allowed no runs. Ewan Pethick recorded the save for Bronx, his 10th of the season.
The Bombers got a big at-bat from first baseman Steve Lindsey. For the game, Lindsey was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Bronx a 2-0 lead.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Bombers manager Weston Papenfuss, "I like our chances."
Bronx, at 16-4, has sizzled in the early going.
