Multi-HR Game for Silva in 7-2 Win
|
The Joplin Fireballs topped the Billings Mustangs by the score of 7-2, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Manny Silva. Silva slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Fireballs. Bob Brown, the winner, improved to 1-3. He held the Mustangs to 2 earned runs on 4 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 3. Joplin is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 7th win in 20 games.
Silva had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the top of the fourth inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Fireballs went on to win.
