Racers Fall Short at Vancouver
|
Bowling Green got a terrific game from second baseman Tynan Miller. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Vancouver, 5-4. Miller was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. Fernando López, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4 innings. The win gives the Canadians a record of 9-10.
The Canadians were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when first baseman Masayuki Kimura turned a 1-0 sinker from Brian Reddin into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave Vancouver a thrilling 5-4 win.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Kimura said.
