Detroit pitcher Dongdo-pa Chen did his part in helping his team beat the Pasadena Bumblebees, 2-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The Bumblebees fall to 7-8 and continue their wobbly start to the 2033 season.
Had Anthony Miller not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Miller hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Death Stars.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Chen told the Detroit Daily.
