Victory Over Banditos Takes Bowling Green to 11-5
|
The Bowling Green Racers defeated the Acapulco Banditos, 8-4, at Top of the Hill. Bowling Green designated hitter Frank Nicholson was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs. The winner was Gerardo Garza, who threw 75 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 4 hits. The Racers keep rolling, raising their record to 11-5.
Tony Prado aided the Bowling Green cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman went 1 for 4.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Nicholson told the Bowling Green Chronicle.
