The Minneapolis Freeze saddled the Reno Raiders with a loss at The Ice Box. The final score was 6-4. Bob Nichols, named player of the game, was 3 for 4, including 2 singles and 1 home run. The Minneapolis right fielder scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Minneapolis reliever Mitsuharu Nakashima picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Daladhisvara Harishandra was collared with the loss. Earning his 2nd save for Minneapolis was Curt Hart.
Wang Huang, who is rated as the 33rd best prospect by BNN, aided the Minneapolis cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the third baseman was 1 for 2 with 2 walks.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Huang said.
The Freeze, now 10-5, have been on a roll in the early going.
