Bombers Get Road Win, 9-6
|
Ángel García was instrumental in his team's 9-6 triumph over the Calgary Kodiaks. The center fielder went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs for the Bronx Bombers. Ewan Pethick saved it for Bronx. The Bombers, now 12-2, have been on fire in the early going.
In the top of the 6th, designated hitter Yoshitoki Kitamura gave Bronx the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Bombers had been trailing 5-4, but the two-out single off Calgary pitcher Nobuatsu Fukumoto changed that -- and Bronx went on to win.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Kitamura told the Bronx Citizen.
