Freeze Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
It was a fun time at The Ice Box, where the Reno Raiders and Minneapolis Freeze tangled.
Wang Huang made an impact in the 5-2 Minneapolis win over Reno. Huang, who is rated as the 33rd best prospect by BNN, went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Andrew Johnson earned the win to go to 2-0. He allowed 2 earned runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts.
Huang contributed a big hit, a 2-run single, for Minneapolis in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-1, Huang took a fastball from Almas bin Su'ud and stroked the single to center. His 16th hit of the season allowed the Freeze to leap in front, 3-2.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Huang. "And not try to do too much."
The Freeze keep rolling, raising their record to 9-5.
