Earthquakes Turn Back Vancouver, 4-2
|
The San Francisco Earthquakes got a strong performance from pitcher Lester Bisdu, who stymied the Vancouver offense en route to a 4-2 win at Golden Gate Park. Eric Markle picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Jesús Ramos was tagged with the loss. San Francisco, at 2-0, has sizzled in the early going.
The Earthquakes beat the Pioneers in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out home run Ruben Estrada produced in the bottom of the sixth. Batting against Vancouver pitcher Jesús Ramos, Estrada gave his team a 2-1 lead when he hit a solo home run.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Estrada said.
