Hot Start Continues for Bombers
The Bronx Bombers dealt the Peoria Caterpillars a 8-5 loss at Bronx Ballpark. Yoshitoki Kitamura was the star on offense. He went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Bronx reliever Vicente Valenzuela was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Nate Chapman. The save went to Ewan Pethick, his 6th this season.

Kitamura had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch fastball from David Gilmour, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Bombers a 8-5 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Kitamura.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Kitamura said.

Bronx, now 11-2, has played well in the early going.
