Campos Delivers Walk-Off Win for Beavers
The Portland Beavers dealt the New York Mafia a 8-7 loss at Waterfront Park. Teruo Sato was the star on offense. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Portland reliever Olivier Martin was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Jun'ichi Suzuki. The Mafia, at 5-14, have stumbled out of the gate.

Carlos Campos was the walk-off hero for Portland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Beavers second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Sato, "but we got it done."
