The Jacksonville Jacks defeated the San Diego Hops, 4-2, in Roberto Clemente League action at The Brew Stade, with Jacksonville pitcher Yoshiaga Rin named player of the game. The Hops fall to 7-11 and continue their wobbly start to the 2033 season.
Juan Villa, who is tied for 8th in the RCL with a .574 slugging percentage, chipped in for Jacksonville with a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Jacksonville manager Herb Good.
