Djambek Excels, But Canadians Win
Indian Wells third baseman Pramana Djambek pounded Vancouver Canadians pitchers at Stars Field, but it was not enough to keep the Aeropostales from falling, 11-8. Djambek went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Vancouver reliever Alexis Coates picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Wing-chiu Zhou was saddled with the loss. The win leaves Vancouver with a record of 5-4.

Had Masayuki Kimura not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Kimura hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 9-8, in favor of the Canadians.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Kimura told reporters after the game.
