Minneapolis shortstop Santiago Sierra had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 11-10, to Detroit at The Ice Box. Sierra was 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and a double, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Detroit reliever Lorenzo Ortega was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Esteban Sánchez took the loss. The loss lowers the Minneapolis record to 5-5.

The result might have been different for Detroit, had it not been for Ryuzaburo Nishiyama. The third baseman produced a run-scoring single in the top of the 16th inning to put the Death Stars ahead, 11-10. For the game, Nishiyama had 1 double and 1 single in 7 at-bats.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Nishiyama.
