Jesús Díaz pitched well, but his team, the Fairfield Flash, still dropped a 3-1 decision to the Bowling Green Racers at Top of the Hill. Bowling Green reliever Daniel Carrasco picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Jesús Díaz was collared with the loss. Sung-hwan Park earned the save, his 3rd, for the Racers.
Eddie Ruiz hit a run-scoring triple off Jesús Díaz in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Racers in front, 2-1. Ruiz had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 3.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Ruiz.
Bowling Green, now 7-2, is setting the league on fire so far.
