Kodiaks Lose, 8-6, at Cobb Field
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Jeff Bettcher, the Billings Mustangs defeated the Calgary Kodiaks, 8-6. Bettcher went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk for the Mustangs. Billings reliever Diego Castro got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Marcus Clifton was tagged with the loss. Getting the save was John Otten, his 1st.

Itsuka Arakaki went 2-3 with 2 singles for Billings. The 23-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off An-yi Fok. It was his 1st RBI of the season.

"We maximized our offense today," said Billings skipper Greg Morgan. "That makes everyone's life easier."

The win pushes Billings to a record of 3-2.
