Montoya drives in 3 runs, Bombers Move to 4-1
|
The Bronx Bombers defeated the Astoria Argonauts, 7-5, in Darryl Kile League action at Golden Fleece Park, with Bronx second baseman Saul Montoya named player of the game. Ewan Pethick nailed down his 3rd save. The Bombers, now 4-1, have stormed out of the gates.
Montoya had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Rhys Ballard, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Bombers a 7-5 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Montoya.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Montoya told the Bronx Citizen. "It's as simple as that."
