Tsuruta goes 3-for-5, Fireballs Move to 2-1
The Joplin Fireballs dealt the Minneapolis Freeze a 7-1 loss at The Ice Box. Takashi Tsuruta was the star on offense. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Carlos Mendoza got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Freeze to 1 earned run on 6 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 5. Joplin is off to a hot start at 2-1.
