Bombers Get Past Astoria for 4-3 Win
|
The Bronx Bombers defeated the Astoria Argonauts, 4-3. Earning player of the game honors was designated hitter Yoshitoki Kitamura, who went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Bronx, now 3-1, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Had Saul Montoya not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Montoya hit a 2-run double. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Bombers.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Bronx manager Weston Papenfuss.
