The Bowling Green Racers dealt the Silver Lake Baristas a 7-5 loss at Ashton Gate. Paul Rice was the star on offense. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI. Bowling Green reliever Brian Reddin picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Van Perry absorbed the loss. The Racers, now 2-0, have been on a roll in the early going.

It could have been a different outcome for Bowling Green, had it not been for Juan López, the 23-year old center fielder . López contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the 13th inning to put Bowling Green up, 5-4.
