Walk-Off Seals 101st Victory for Islanders
|
Hawaii right-hander Ehrich Weiss made an effective start against the Havana Stogies at Aloha Stadium, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Hawaii reliever David Lidstone picked up the win to move to 4-0. Ti-an Dan suffered the loss. The Islanders have an impressive 101-61 record.
The Islanders got a big at-bat from designated hitter Gilberto Jiménez. For the game, Jiménez went 1-5. In the bottom of the 11th, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 137th hit of the season gave Hawaii a 3-2 lead.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Weiss.
