The Havana Stogies topped the Hawaii Islanders, 2-1, in Roberto Clemente League action at Aloha Stadium. The player of the game was Havana pitcher Felipe Arreola. Havana is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Had Garin Renzenbrink not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Renzenbrink hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Stogies.
In postgame comments to the Havana Times, Arreola said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
