Victory Pushes Bombers Record to 88-71
|
The South Carolina Bombers reigned over the Maple Marauders in damp conditions at Bomber Ballpark.
Baber Davi made an impact in the 8-4 South Carolina win over Maple. Davi, who is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner, was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Vincenzo Rizzoli, the winner, improved to 2-2. He held Maple to 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts.
John Watt, who is rated as the 31st best prospect by BNN, aided the South Carolina cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
In postgame comments to the South Carolina Times, Watt said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The Bombers bumped their record to 88-71 with this latest triumph.
