Jacks Lose to Mafia, 7-4
|
Jacksonville got a terrific performance from pitcher Eiichi Ikeda, but it wasn't enough to beat the New York Mafia. New York won the Don Corleone Park contest, 7-4. Ikeda was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He came in in relief and pitched to 17 batters . Jun'ichi Suzuki got the save, his 26th in 34 chances. New York now has a 3-game win streak.
The Mafia got a big at-bat from designated hitter Denzel Tatchell. For the game, Tatchell was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 15th double of the season gave New York a 4-2 lead.
"Enjoyed this one," Tatchell told the New York Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
