The Havana Stogies defeated the Brooklyn Black Knights, 4-3. Earning player of the game honors was catcher Rob Koller, who went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. Ti-an Dan converted his 20th save in 24 tries. Havana goes to 110-48. The win puts them 12½ games up in their division.
Susumu Kono went 1-3 for Havana. The 23-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Chang-wei Zhou. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Brooklyn manager Diego Aguirre said following the tough loss.
