Earthquakes Continue Skid Thanks to Yamasaki, Bombers
|
The South Carolina Bombers defeated the San Francisco Earthquakes, 8-0. Earning player of the game honors was left fielder Kiyonobu Yamasaki, who was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Jerry Hughes earned the win to go to 1-2. He allowed no earned runs on 4 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. The losses continue to add up for San Francisco, which has now fallen 19 times in a row.
Yamasaki had a key at-bat for South Carolina early in the game. With a runner on 3rd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 23rd home run of the season and gave South Carolina an early 2-0 lead.
"It feels good to get this one," Yamasaki told the South Carolina Times.
