Marauders Get One-Run Win at Cabo San Lucas
|
Héctor Zúñiga never let the Toreros get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Marauders to a 2-1 win. Hariz Sahir was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 21 of 23 save opportunities. The first-place Marauders, at 117-39, now lead their division by 19½ games.
Kojuro Ine, who is the 2032 Most Valuable Player Award winner, aided the Maple cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman went 2 for 3 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"We were in it," said Cabo San Lucas manager Matt Johnson. "We just didn't score enough runs."
