Victory Over Toreros Takes Maple to 116-39
|
The Maple Marauders knocked off the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 6-5, at Field de Los Layendas. Motonobu Yamasaki, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Maple won. The catcher was 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs. Minoru Aoki earned his 1st save in 2 chances. The Marauders, at 116-39, have now won 6 straight.
Gerard Leeder, who is a three-time All-Star, helped out the Maple cause in the top of the fourth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the second baseman was 1-5, while adding 2 RBI.
"This was a good win for us," said Yamasaki. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
