The Black Knights had to overcome a fine effort from Hawaii pitcher Rodrigo Garza to grab a narrow 5-4 win at Blue Ivy Stadium. Garza went 6.1 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. Fred Price, who went 7.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 10 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 0. His record now stands at 14-10. Mike MacInroy, credited with the save, is now 23 for 25 in save opportunities.
Fernando Murillo, who is a four-time All-Star, aided the Brooklyn cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
"It feels good to get this one," Murillo told the Brooklyn Gazette.
The Black Knights bumped their record to 81-73 with this latest triumph.
