Eureka Hornets starter Jorge Salazar pitched a strong game against the Oklahoma City Prowlers at The Nest, leading the Hornets to a 4-3 win. Eureka reliever Alim bin Umar picked up the win, upping his record to 9-8. Manny Calderón was saddled with the loss. Eureka is now 74-78, while Oklahoma City is 73-82.
Ka-fei Bi was the walk-off hero for Eureka. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Hornets second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We take it day by day here," said Bi, "and today was a good one for us."
