Hops Win at Seattle, 5-4
|
The San Diego Hops picked up a win at Sick's Stadium, knocking off the Seattle Sasquatch, 5-4. Starting pitcher Prince Percival Papenfuss played a key role in the triumph. Papenfuss, now 2-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 4 earned runs. The Sasquatch fall to 5-11 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2033 season.
Tokuhei Taniguchi, who is tied for 7th in the RCL in bases on balls with 8, aided the San Diego cause with a 2-run double in the top of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Papenfuss.
