The Vancouver Pioneers defeated the Maple Marauders, 8-7, in Thurman Munson League action at Legends Park, with Vancouver designated hitter Shunsho Meshizuka named player of the game. Vancouver has now won 3 in a row.

Meshizuka had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-2 cutter from Maulik Shaw, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Pioneers a 8-5 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Meshizuka.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Meshizuka, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
