Texans Win at Hawaii, 6-3
|
Dallas and Hawaii duked it out at Aloha Stadium and the Texans came out victorious.
The Dallas Texans defeated the Hawaii Islanders, 6-3, in Roberto Clemente League action at Aloha Stadium, with Dallas pitcher Paul Johnston named player of the game. Johnston picked up the win for Dallas, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 13-11. Adrien Clément was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 33 of 39 save opportunities.
The Texans got a big at-bat from designated hitter Michael Fitzgerald. For the game, Fitzgerald went 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 73rd hit of the season gave Dallas a 2-0 lead.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Fitzgerald said.
Dallas goes to 80-65, Hawaii to 90-55.
