Jacks Come Back Late to Clip Hops
|
The Jacksonville Jacks and San Diego Hops played an exciting game at Skellington Stadium.
The Jacksonville Jacks did just enough to sneak past the San Diego Hops, 4-3, at Skellington Stadium. Jacksonville pitcher Yoshiaga Rin earned player of the game honors. Kichibei Endo was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 24 of 30 save opportunities.
Jacksonville took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, right fielder Harold Planter hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Planter said.
The 4th-place Jacks improved to 66-79.
