Hornets Lose to Bombers, 6-3
|
Fans at Bomber Ballpark were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown South Carolina Bombers take on the Eureka Hornets.
South Carolina starter Ange Schmit pitched effectively against the Eureka Hornets at Bomber Ballpark. The left-hander led his team to a 6-3 win. Ed Armstrong, credited with the save, is now 18 for 23 in save opportunities.
Baber Davi, who is tied for 5th in the TML in doubles with 33, chipped in for South Carolina with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Schmit said.
The third-place Bombers are now 81-65, the Hornets 71-75.
