Multi-HR Day for Petit as Bombers Overpower Hornets, 5-2
The rain at Bomber Ballpark did not keep South Carolina and Eureka from finishing their game.

A 4-RBI performance from second baseman Jean-Claude Petit, who is a six-time All-Star, led the South Carolina Bombers to a 5-2 win over the Eureka Hornets. Ed Armstrong was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 17 of 22 save opportunities.

Petit had a key at-bat for South Carolina early in the game. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 24th home run of the season and gave South Carolina an early 3-0 lead.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said South Carolina manager Randy Huggett.

The Bombers bumped their record to 80-65 with this latest triumph.
