Pioneers Solve Hops, 5-3
|
The Vancouver Pioneers downed the San Diego Hops, 5-3, at The Brew Stade. Dan Rollins led the way, going 2-for-4 for Vancouver. The Pioneers now have a record of 56-87 with the win over San Diego.
Rollins contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Vancouver in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Rollins took a fastball from Jeff Hodge and stroked the home run to left. His 17th home run of the season allowed the Pioneers to leap in front, 3-2.
"We played hard and won," said Rollins. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
