Leeder Helps Marauders Run Win Streak to 6
|
Gerard Leeder made an impact in the 6-1 Maple win over Jacksonville. Leeder, who is tied for 5th in the TML in RBI with 101, hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Maple reliever Umarah Abdul-Quddus was the winner. His record is now 5-1. The losing pitcher was Yoshiaga Rin. The Marauders, at 104-37, have a comfortable 15-game lead in their division.
Leeder had a key at-bat for Maple early in the game. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 31st home run of the season and gave Maple an early 3-0 lead.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Marauders manager Jesús Alfaro, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
