|
John Oakes was instrumental in his team's 9-3 triumph over the Kansas City Tornadoes. The second baseman was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs for the Havana Stogies. Havana reliever Joe Jackson picked up the win, upping his record to 8-2. David Myers was saddled with the loss. The first-place Stogies, at 100-42, now lead their division by 13½ games.
