The Maple Marauders picked up a win at Legends Park, knocking off the New York Mafia, 4-3. Starting pitcher Paul Barrett played a key role in the triumph. The losing streak for New York has now reached 5 games.
The Marauders got a big at-bat from first baseman Kojuro Ine. For the game, Ine went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 45th home run of the season gave Maple a 3-0 lead.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Barrett told the Maple Citizen.
