Earthquakes Turn Back Jacksonville, 5-4
|
San Francisco beat Jacksonville at Golden Gate Park, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Juan López, who earned player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. Lester Bisdu picked up the win with 7.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 4 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 9-11. Eric Markle got the save, his 6th in 10 chances.
Júlio Solís aided the San Francisco cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second. For the game, the left fielder drove in one run.
"It feels good to get this one," Solís told the San Francisco Citizen.
The Earthquakes saw their win-loss record go to 56-83. At the same time, the Jacks fell to 63-76.
