Multi-HR Day for Renzenbrink as Stogies Overpower Tornadoes, 6-4
|
The Havana Stogies topped the Kansas City Tornadoes by the score of 6-4, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Garin Renzenbrink. Renzenbrink belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4 for the Stogies. Havana is now 99-42, 12½ games up in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.
The Stogies got a big at-bat from right fielder Jesús Velásquez. For the game, Velásquez was 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 155th hit of the season gave Havana a 6-4 lead.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Renzenbrink told the Havana Times.
