Reynaud Goes Off, But Marauders Win
|
The Maple Marauders had to overcome a big game from New York center fielder Jonathan Reynaud to leave Legends Park with a 9-6 victory. Reynaud belted 3 home runs. Maple reliever Marcos León picked up the win, upping his record to 8-3. Juan Mendoza shouldered the loss. The first-place Marauders, at 101-37, now lead their division by 14 games.
Angel Barajas put Maple in front, 8-3, when he took Juan Mendoza downtown. His grand slam home run came with two out in the bottom of the fourth. It was his 23rd home run of the season.
"We maximized our offense today," said Maple skipper Jesús Alfaro. "That makes everyone's life easier."
