Masayoshi Sai left his imprint on the 6-4 Brooklyn win against the San Diego Hops. Sai, the 20 overall pick in the 2024 draft, was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Brooklyn reliever Bhanuratha Vaithu was the winner. His record is now 3-0. Zong-yuan Sang took the loss. Mike MacInroy got the save, his 16th in 18 chances.

Sai had a game-changing double in the top of the ninth. On a 1-0 fastball from Zong-yuan Sang, he banged a bases-clearing double to right, giving the Black Knights a 6-3 lead. It was the 11th double of the year for Sai.

"It was a solid team effort," said Sai after the game.

The Black Knights bumped their record to 70-68 with this latest triumph.
