The Hawaii Islanders grabbed a 7-2 win over the Seattle Sasquatch at Aloha Stadium. Hawaii designated hitter Gilberto Jiménez was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once to earn player of the game honors. Allen Cox got the win, improving to 6-3. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 0. This loss makes it 7 in a row for Seattle.
Jiménez had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the fifth, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Islanders went on to win.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Jiménez told the Hawaii News.
