|
Portland right-hander Michael Smith was sensational in shutting out the Rubber City Rhinos, 1-0. Losses have been rare for the Rhinos, who are now 11-3.
The Beavers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Anuvaha Tasha. For the game, Tasha went 1-4. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 15th hit of the season gave Portland a 1-0 lead.
Smith called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
