Hornets Bang Out 9-3 Win Versus Vancouver
|
Starting pitcher Jorge Salazar pitched well enough to help the Eureka Hornets beat the Vancouver Pioneers by the score of 9-3. The Hornets bumped their record to 69-68 with this latest triumph.
The Hornets got a big at-bat from right fielder Mike McCaw. For the game, McCaw was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 23rd double of the season gave Eureka a 4-3 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Salazar told reporters after the game.
