Blazers Reel Off Another Win
|
The Bloomington Blazers racked up a win at Lucky 7 Ballpark, bumping off the Quebec Armada, 5-3. Landy Lu, who started for Bloomington, pitched effectively for his team. Lu got the win, improving to 18-8. He allowed 11 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Lu allowed 2 earned runs. Bloomington has now won 6 straight.
Fernando Franco, who is on pace for 108 RBI this season, aided the Bloomington cause with a 2-run single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 4 with a walk. He drove in 3 runs.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Franco. "And not try to do too much."
