Pioneers Clip Prowlers, 2-1
|
The Vancouver Pioneers went home winners at Memorial Circle Park, thanks in large part to starter Matt Quinlan. Quinlan silenced the Oklahoma City Prowlers, enabling Vancouver to grab the 2-1 win. Quinlan picked up the win for Vancouver, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. At 53-82, Vancouver is in last place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
Ruben Torres, who is tied for 8th in the TML in triples with 5, aided the Vancouver cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the first. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 4.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Quinlan said.
