Victory Pushes Mustangs Record to 74-55
|
2033 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the New York Mafia.
The Mile High Mustangs defeated the New York Mafia, 6-3, at Don Corleone Park today. Leading the charge for Mile High was center fielder Héctor Lara. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Quan Que converted his 37th save in 44 tries.
Lara contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Mile High in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Lara took a slider from Juan Mendoza and stroked the home run to right. His 28th home run of the season allowed the Mustangs to leap in front, 2-1.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Lara told reporters after the game.
Mile High is now riding a 3-game win streak.
